      Worked right out of the bag. Added a 1-1/2 inch speaker, a 5V rechargeable power pack via the micro USB and the 4 Gb card from my phone. 30 seconds and it was playing.
      Making a music player for my grand daughter.

        there's a few second delay as the system is booting up. I wouldn't recommend that for any emergency or warning device as is it intended to play music and not a warning device. There's better option when it comes to warning when a vehicle is backing up.
